Pre-requisites for availing the Voice Mail Service

The new VMS equipment installed at Kidwai Bhawan, New Delhi is ready for commissioning. For utilizing the service the customer must have DTMF type instrument, DTMF facility on his number; and also must have call transfer facility, both conditional and direct from the concerned exchange. All these facilities are available from new technology exchange like 5-ESS, OCB-283 & AXE-10 which support CCS#7. For the other exchange which do not support CCS#7 signalling i.e. E10B & Fetex, the calling subscribers who is dialing those number needs to dial "17060" followed by the telephone number (which is also the mail box number).

Brief procedure for Voice Mail Service Facility on Telephone
Telephone number
(Only with dtmf/tone dialing instrument)
Tel. no from ocb, 5ess or axe-10 exchanges Tel. no from E-10B exchanges
Have call transfer facility both conditional and direct from concerned telephone exchange Have only direct call transfer facility from concerned telephone exchange

Activate by dialing 114 17060
(Deactivate by dialing 115) all calls will be forwarded to voice mail system which will ask for voice mail box number and the caller will have to dial telephone number again and record his

Calls can be retrieved by the customer by dialing 17060 from his own telephone as per intractive voice response system of VMS by dialing his/her secret passcode

Direct call transfer activated by dialing 114 17060.
All calls will be recorded in mail box only

(to deactivate dial 115)

Conditional call transfer

Activate call transfer by dialing
(1)
122217060 (call transfer no reply case) and also
(2)
122017060 (call transfer BUSY subscriber case)

After activation the calls automatically get transferred to voice mail box (after 10 rings in no reply case or busy subscriber case) and the caller can record the message.

The customer can use (1) or (2) or both as per his requirement.

(To deactivate dial 1223 and 1221 respectively. )

Calls can be retrived by the customer by dialing 17060 from his own telephone as per intractive voice response system of VMS by dialing his/her secret passcode
How to enable the service for the first time
(a) Dial 17060
(b) The System will greet you and the tutorial will start for the first time
(c) Configure your mailbox according to the voice prompts and provide your pass code.
