But now with the help of Video Conferencing Service on ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) , it is possible to have face to face conference even while sitting at different locations. ISDN services were started by MTNL in August 1996. MTNL, Delhi had arranged many videoconferences in Government offices including PM office, Parliament, Communication ministry etc., in hospitals e.g in Escorts, Maulana Azad Medical college etc. and for many Public dignitaries. .

        Facilities provided at Video Conferencing Studio

• Video Conferencing on ISDN BRI/PRI at bandwidth of 128 Kbps to 512 Kbps.

• Video Conference through leased line@ 512 Kbps.

• Multi point video conferencing between three and more different sites. (including local site).

• The studio can accommodate 6 to 8 persons; hence it is possible to make videoconference with 6 to 8 persons simultaneously.

• This service is available for different locations in India as well as for overseas.

• It is also possible to do audio conferencing along with video conference.

• The studio is fully air-conditioned and equipped ,with facilities required for conference purpose.

• The facility of making PSTN calls and FAX is also available in studio.
  

  Outdoor Video Conferencing
  
  For Outdoor Video conferencing service, the following equipments are available. 
  Videophone, Video Conferencing Equipment, Color TV (29"), LCD projector, screen, external speakers, cordless mikes etc. These equipments are provided on rent basis (annexure enclosed). However in this case the ISDN line will be arranged by customer and the communication charges will be paid by him. MTNL may also provide the same by charging the casual connection tariff in force at that time.
