All the Telephone Numbers of MTNL Delhi (starting with code 3/4/5/6/7) will be of 8 digits from 05-12-2002 at 0000 hrs. For landline numbers prefix “2” before the existing no. and for Garuda( WLL Mobile Service) replace the first digit(4 or 6) by “20”.

     Numbers of Trans Yamuna Area( starting with code 2) have already been changed to 8 digits in the 1^st phase from 25-11-2002.

• Subscribers using call forwarding and abbreviated dialing, please re-feed the new 8 digit telephone number.
• Subscribers please change the telephone nos. in their mobile/fax/digital diaries/computers, etc. accordingly.
• For fault complaint dial 198(if you are dialing from the same exchange) and 2XYZ 2198 in place of XYZ 2198(if you are dialing from other exchange), where 2XYZ denotes your exchange code that is first four digits of your telephone no.
• No change in numbering system for special and emergency services,NSD / ISD station codes.

Internet Users Please Note

• Access number of MTNL Internet Express Service ( CLI based) will change to 24880000.
• Internet help desk number will change to 23359272.
  Do not prefix '2' with prepaid Internet service access number 172230 and Toll free Internet Helpdesk number 1600111172.
• Internet ISDN Dial-up access numbers will change to 24694444, 23761667, 26213677, 25166039 and 26220000.
• Customers have to give their 8 digit telephone number as user ID for accessing the MTNL Internet Express Service prefixing 2 in their existing telephone no.
